Mission:
It is the mission of the White Haven Area Community Library to serve local residents with a vast and varied collection of information, technology and programming to enrich the learning experience and to preserve and promote local history, lore and legacy. We will offer children, adults, seniors, tourists and teachers a permanent, barrier free environment conducive to education, recreation and socialization.

Objective:
It is the goal of the Board of Directors of the White Haven Area Community Library to develop the historic Engine House building in White Haven into a community library and heritage visitors' center. The project appeals to our citizens for various reasons, and has garnered widespread community support and enthusiasm. The library component can meet the educational needs of children from three school districts by providing hard copy resources and internet access. Adults will benefit from a larger book collection, the lectures, workshops, exhibits and social activities. The visitors' center will meet the needs of area businesses in promoting their goods & services as well as assisting visitors in having a positive experience in the region. Train and history enthusiasts will appreciate the ability to be inside a magnificent structure that had previously been unavailable to the public and is believed to be the last repair shop still intact in the Commonwealth.
