History
In 1893, Edward C Thayer gifted the land and building now known as the Uxbridge Free Public Library to the community of Uxbridge. The mission of the Uxbridge Free Public Library shall be to serve the town of Uxbridge as a center for education, culture, recreation, and information. Our purpose is to provide an opportunity for all to inform and educate themselves. The staff of the library will attempt to identify community needs and to meet them whenever possible.
