Mission Statement

The Library’s primary mission is to encourage reading and free access to information, and to provide for the educational, recreational and cultural needs of its users. The Library will offer the broadest range of materials and programming in a balanced way to meet the needs of the diverse community of Union. The library is committed to providing a varied and extensive collection of current fiction, non-fiction and audio-visual materials on a wide variety of subjects. It is also committed to using state-of-the art technology to improve access to global resources. In addition, the Library maintains a distinct collection of materials unique to the Township of Union and of special interest to Township residents and community organizations.

The Union Public Library recognizes its value and responsibility to the community as an educational, social and cultural resource and also offers its meeting rooms to individuals, organizations and companies for meetings, workshops and other activities. We will strive to provide a welcoming place where the community can meet, research and learn and a place where residents can realize their maximum potential.
