The single most unifying force in an increasingly diverse Ocean County is the Ocean County Library, strongly committed in action to the Vision - Connecting People, Building Community. Ocean County Library has a tradition of excellence in providing services for all ages, with a special focus on children and their families. We are proud to be leaders in serving diverse populations. We are committed to diversity and inclusion. Our three strategic goals reflect our commitment: We are a Catalyst for Growth and Change. We are the Focal Point of the Community. Every Ocean County Resident Uses and Champions the Library.
Ocean County Library serves over 510,000 residents. The 33 municipalities that comprise Ocean County vary widely in median income, age distribution, and racial and ethnic makeup. Located between the exploding New York and Philadelphia metropolitan areas, Ocean County is a textbook example of exurban growth-complete with its benefits and challenges.
Ocean County Library are twenty branches strong and still expanding, with our Headquarters building in Toms River doubling in size, a new facility coming in the Whiting section of Manchester, and plans to double the size of our busiest branch in Brick Township. We have an excellent reputation with the citizens and government of Ocean County, among public libraries in the State, and in the Nation. We are constantly seeking ways to improve the way we do our work and improve the quality of life for our customers.
