The Trails Regional Library, in its responsibility to provide library service to people in its library district, is a public library whose broad purpose and functions are in accord with the following statement:

The mission of Trails Regional Library is to provide open access to informational, recreational and cultural library materials and services that support and enrich the lives of the individuals and communities it serves; and to uphold the public's freedom of access to information.
