About the Library:
The Tessie W. Norris Library in Cochran began as the Bleckley County Library--described as a "library on wheels"-- in 1936, affiliated with the WPA. This evolved into the current operation which at one time occupied the former school building on Dykes Street. The current facility was completed in 1986 and continues to serve as the Tessie W. Norris Library for all Bleckley County citizens.
Bleckley County patrons are offered a variety of library services including book and periodicals circulation, reference service, and children's and adult programming. There are also public access computers for Internet connection and other applications, including word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software
