Talking Book Library For The Blind

770 North San Pablo Avenue
559-488-3217

The Talking Book Library for the Blind, which opened in 1975, serves as a subregional library of the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped. Though we are a branch of the Fresno County Library, we serve patrons in four counties: Fresno, Madera, Kings, and Tulare.

We provide books and magazines on cassette tape and in Braille to people of all ages who are blind, visually impaired, or have physical disabilities preventing the reading of standard print. Over 54,000 cassette books are available, encompassing material for all ages: fiction, non-fiction, biography, history, romance, suspense, mystery, science fiction, classics, and much, much more. You can search the catalog of the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped. To find books available through our library, be sure to limit your "format" to Cassette Books or Braille Books, and limit your "Holding Agency" to "NLS Only". If you are a registered patron of TBLB, you can call us, write us, or email us to request the books you want.
