In 1969, the Strasburg Area Women's Club recognized the need for a local library and opened the Strasburg Reading Center. Our growth from a single room in the former Lutheran Manse stocked with donated books to our current home has been an exciting journey and we’ve got even more changes on the way! Many local service organizations have joined the Strasburg Area Women's Club to provide annual financial support to the Strasburg-Heisler Library. Each stage of our expansion has been supported by our generous community and many individuals dedicated to the betterment of Strasburg.  We are grateful to longtime benefactor, Kenneth M. Heisler, for his continued support and are proud to carry his name.  We would also like to thank the late Abram and Claribel Keener for their substantial contribution to theLibrary's growth, along with our many supporters who prefer to remain anonymous for all that their contributions have allowed us to do for our patrons. From the beginning, this journey has been a true community effort that continues to enrich the lives of all those who enter our doors.  Our goal is to be the best community library we can be for the people we are privileged to serve.
