About Us :

At a regular meeting of the Sheldon Woman's Club, February 3, 1914, plans began for a library for the community. Members and friends donated the books. The librarians worked without pay. In April of 1914, the President of the club wrote to the Carnegie Corporation asking for a grant. The plans for the building were accepted and the grant was allowed. In April of 1917, the taxpayers voted to levy township taxes to support the library. On April 12, 1917, Sheldon Township Public Library was opened to serve the public in the present library building.
