Vision:

Saline District Library serves its community by embracing the past, engaging in the present and empowering people for their future.

Mission:

Saline District Library was created by and belongs to the people it serves. The Library exists to advance intellectual curiosity, promote lifelong learning, encourage cultural knowledge and maintain an environment in which minds can grow. It supports an active, informed and evolving community by providing all people with open access to resources in various formats representing diverse points of view.

Roles:

Lifelong Learning:

The Library encourages curiosity and lifelong learning. It is a source for personal development, leisure enjoyment and creative discovery - all of which enrich and empower the community.

Resource Center:

The Library provides free and equitable access to information in traditional and evolving formats; equipment and facilities for public use; and supportive and knowledgeable staff.

Building and Preserving Community:

The Library provides leadership to the evolving Saline community and serves as a source of information for citizens, business and community organizations. Through relationships and resource sharing, the Library will preserve Saline history and provide an avenue for local organizations to reach the general public.

Gathering Place:

The Library is a respectful and welcoming place for patrons and community groups and their activities.
