Saint Helena Public Library

1492 Library Lane

The purpose of the public library of St. Helena is to provide the best possible library service appropriate to the needs of our community. To be innovative in planning for future needs and advances in technology, to find ways of attracting citizens who do not yet use our facilities, and to meet the needs of minorities and the under served.

I just had a very unfortunate experience with the help desk. My first phone call I was very rudely ask to wait a minute, no hello, no can you hold please I'll be right with you. I never even got a sound in let alone a word. And then I was disconnected. When I called back I barely got my question out before the rude woman said "no" and hung up on me. Considering public libraries are a dying breed you would think their staff would be more kind and welcoming.

A great place to spend on a lazy afternoon . Wander the stacks, read the newspapers or the current issue of your favorite magazine, check out a video, play scrabble, and scratch Elsie the cat's back. The staff is friendly and helpful. Just wish they were still open on Sunday's .
