Mission:

The mission of the River Valley District Library is to provide educational, informational, cultural, and recreational resources and services to its district, serving as a learning and educational center for all residents.

Strategic Priorities:

The River Valley District Library will provide access to information, especially that information and current popular material which is of immediate relevance and interest to meeting the present and future needs of the community it serves. Prudent management and development of resources as well as cooperating with other libraries and other educational and government institutions are critical to accomplishing the library's mission.

To serve the needs of the community in the broadest sense of the mission the following strategic priority areas have been defined:

Program, service, facility and material development that meets the needs of the community.

Community involvement to increase knowledge and awareness of library services.

Facility planning to provide and improve on an environment that offers comfortable, safe accessibility.

Technology planning to stay current with advances in electronic and automated technologies.

Fiscal resource development to expand library services, technologies, and facilities to meet the expanding need of the district community.
