About Us:

The Ramseur Public Library is much more than a simple depository of books; it is a place of constant activity which provides a wide range of services to library patrons. Ramseur’s library is part of the Randolph County Public Library system and provides patrons with access to all seven collections within the county.  Conveniently located on Main Street, the Ramseur Public Library’s collection of over 30,000 items includes books, books on CD, magazines and DVDs. Books and magazines  may be checked out for three weeks, while a one week limit applies to DVDs. Computer stations are available for Internet access and word processing. A Randolph County library card, which can be obtained at the Ramseur branch, is required to check out material or to use the Internet. The Ramseur Public Library is wireless.

In addition to assisting patrons with reading material and research, the Library actively promotes early literacy and reading programs. The librarians present programs to school groups upon request, and offers a weekly Preschool Story Time on Thursday mornings at 10:30 a.m. during the months of September through May. Skype visits are made to school groups unable to visit the library.  During the months of June and July, the library offers programs for children from preschool age through elementary school. In order to accommodate additional children summer programs are held at the Ramseur Municipal Building located at 724 Liberty Street on Thursdays at 10:30 a.m.  The Summer Reading Program encourages children of all ages to continue to read through the summer.

The Ramseur Public Library is funded primarily by the Town of Ramseur. The Ramseur Public Library’s Board of Trustees sponsors an annual fund drive throughout the month of May. Under their direction and with their continued support the library is able to continue its rich heritage of service to the community.  Anyone wishing to make a financial contribution or donate a book in memory or in honor of a loved one may contact the Library.
