About the Northmont Branch:
The Englewood Lions Club organized a fundraising campaign to rent a storefront for the first Northmont Branch Library in 1967. An old mailbox in front served as the bookdrop. Within eight years the population of Englewood had increased by 50%. When the City Council decided to build a new Government Center, the project was expanded to include facilities for a new library. It was opened to the public in 1975, and enlarged in 1997.
