The North Valleys Library serves the many valley communities located on the east side of Peavine Mountain.
Currently located in the North Hills Shopping Center at US 395 North and Golden Valley Road, this branch has served its community for over 40 years. The Stead Library and three bookmobiles began operating from a site in Stead in 1973. The collection and original staff moved to our current location in June 1988 to be in a more central location to all of the valley communities we serve.
At this location, the branch has expanded two times, has increased business almost ten times over what it was at the original location. A remodel completed in December 2016 has made significant improvements to improve services to our community until a new library can be built.
We currently have 9,000 square feet of space and approximately 30,000 items in print and multi-media format, as well as a growing collection of materials in Spanish.
North Valleys Library staff work closely with the schools in our service area. For our patrons, we offer popular titles and assist with topics of interest to the public, as well as programs of special interest including the monthly book discussion group.
The fact that the library is located in a central shopping facility for the North Valleys, makes this library easy to access and provides "one stop" for many of our citizens.

Thursday-Friday: 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
Saturday: 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Sunday-Monday: CLOSED
