ABOUT FIRST REGIONAL LIBRARY

First Regional Library is a five-county public library cooperative with fourteen branches located in Northern Mississippi. The Region was formed among DeSoto, Tate, Panola and Lafayette counties in 1950.  Tunica County joined the System in 1968.  The regional headquarters is located inside the branch in Hernando, MS, located about 20 miles south of Memphis, Tennessee.

BORROWING AND RETURNS

Most materials may be checked out for three weeks, although some types of materials have different loan periods.  While there is no charge to check out library materials, overdue fines are applied when items are not brought back by their due date.  Items can be renewed in person, by phone, or by logging into your account via the Internet (you must have your library card number and PIN to do this).  If an item you have checked out is on hold for another person, you may not renew that item

LIBRARY SERVICES

These are just a few of the services offered by the First Regional Library:

  • Copy and fax machines
  • Interlibrary loans (borrowing requested materials not owned by FRL from other library systems)
  • Meeting rooms
  • Adult and children's exhibits and programs, including preschool storytimes and the Summer Library Program
  • Information and Reference services
