Mogadore Branch Library

144 South Cleveland Avenue
330-628-9228

The original Mogadore Branch Library opened on October 16, 1966 in a former First National Bank building valued at $65,000 purchased by J. Frank Kimmerline and given to the Akron Public Library.

From 1967 through 1982 the costs of operating the branch were shared by the Akron-Summit County Public Library and the Portage County District Library. As a result of continuing financial problems at the Portage County District Library, ASCPL agreed to assume full responsibility for operating the branch as of January 1, 1983.

The new Mogadore Branch Library opened Monday, August 30, 1999. Current statistics indicate that Mogadore Branch has 7,868 registered borrowers, in 2006 circulated 193,418 books and other materials, and has a current collection size of 64,276 items. We are open 6 days a week to meet your needs for education, information and recreation.

Our friendly, skilled staff includes a branch and adult services librarian; two librarians serving children from babies through high school age, public service assistants, an adult shelver, and student assistants.
