The Millbrook Free Library was founded in 1901, and in 1908 the family of Captain Robert M. Hayes gave the property and building. The Cary Wing was added in 1973 and the entire building was expanded and renovated in 2002. The newly renovated building contains the Flagler Reading Room, a separate reference and nonfiction room, the Children's Library, and the Bennett College Community Room.
