About Us
The original Middletown Branch Library opened in Eastern High School in 1962. This was one of four Louisville Free Public Library branches located in Jefferson County School Libraries. This branch closed in 1980. On April 29, 1985 the present Middletown Branch opened in a shared building with offices of the City of Middletown. When the branch outgrew this location it moved in February of 1989 to its present location in the East Government Center
