The Webster County Libraries were added to the Tombigbee Regional Library System in 1970 with bookmobile service to Mathiston, Eupora and county patrons.
In 1984, with local funds from the City of Mathiston and Library Services and Construction Act (LSCA) funds through the Mississippi Library Commission, the Mathiston Public Library was built and renovated in 2003. The library has 2,800 square feet with a 528 sq.ft. meeting room.
