About Us:

In March of 1964 the Marysville Civic Club tossed around the idea of starting a library. Residents began donating books and time, eager to see a library in their community. After much work the first location for the Marysville-Rye Library opened in 1966 in the old fire hall. The Marysville-Rye Library was the second library in Perry County.   In late 1966 the library was moved to the Knights of Pythias Building on 126 Lincoln St. As of 1967 the collection had grown to 5,000 items.

Children’s Story Hour was started in the 1970’s. Children of the community still enjoy Story Hour to this day!   In 1983 the library moved to its current location. With much determination, hard work, grants and generous donations the library was able to keep its doors open and offer many wonderful programs.
