On October 2, 1995, the dream of a modern facililty was realized when the new library at 200 North Smithwick Street was dedicated. Story Time for toddlers and preschoolers is held the first Tuesday and third Tuesday at 11 am from September through May. Story Time includes books, stories, puppetry, music, crafts and other adventures in reading.  Martin Memorial Library offers a special gift to families during the third week of December. The library sponsors a holiday program featuring a magical storyteller or other children’s performer. Children are invited to remain at the library following the show to visit with Santa Claus. Each summer, hundreds of children and teens enjoy reading, earning incentives, weekly Story Time programs, special performances and hands-on workshops during the Summer Reading Program.  Each year, Martin Memorial Library applies for grant funding to host an adult book discussion series during the fall. Popular movies are shown monthly throughout the year and additional adult programs are scheduled as funding allows. Services include: free Internet access including Wi-Fi, photocopying, reference, Interlibrary Loan, tax form distribution, and a meeting room for use by nonprofit organizations.
