In an area rich in United States and Virginia history, the Lorton Community Library typifies the growth of the Fairfax County Public Library. Long time local residents remember the bookmobile and the storefront libraries that served them from the 1970’s until our current building was opened on April 7, 1990. We are a small library, poised to grow with our neighborhood as development of the Laurel Hill property progresses.
Located on Richmond Highway, one mile south of Pohick Church, we hope you will come to browse among our 68,000 books, buy a few from the Friends book sale, attend a program in our meeting room, and use the internet. Our Friends group donates funding for programs and materials and our volunteers provide internet tutoring and other assistance to our customers
