Our History
The Krum Public Library began in 1979 with a shelf of books in the office of the Krum Post Master. Since that time it has grown to over 16,000 books and is located in a 2400 square foot building. From 1979 to 1986 the library was run by volunteers. In 1986 Katherine Boyer, was the first MLS librarian hired. By 1989 the library was a full member of the North Texas Regional Library System. In the 1990’s the library director’s position was made full-time and a part-time staff person was added. Currently the library serves a total population of 6,080 which includes the city’s population of 3,800. The library is located in the northwest corner of Denton County, Texas.
