About Us:

The Knox County Public Library is located in downtown Barbourville. The Bookmobile provides books, magazines and programs to Daycare Centers, Schools, Nursing homes and Library customers throughout the community.

The Library's current collection includes more than 45,000 books, abridged and unabridged books on tape and CD's for adults and children, as well as instructional, educational, and popular entertainment Videos and DVD's. The Library also includes a number of Magazines and Newspapers and a History and Genealogy collection.

The Library has a separate Kentucky collection as well as a seperate Inspirational Fiction section. The Library has a Community Room, which may be used free of charge by Civic groups and Non-Profit Organizations. The Community Room has kitchen and restroom facilities available.

The Library's services also include Public Computers with Internet access and software installed for adults and children. The Library has available for patron usage archives of our local newspaper, the Barbourville Mountain Advocate. The Library also has, Large Print books, Reference services and children and adult programs.
