About:

The Junior Friends of the Southbury Library are volunteers comprised of students in grades 4-12. They meet on the first Thursday of each month at 6:00 pm. Balancing recreation with service, the Junior Friends assist in the Children’s and Teen Departments. Duties include book shelving and sorting, cleaning, decorating, and preparing for library events. They also enjoy movie or game nights, holiday parties, and other activities.

The Junior Friends also provide service to the Southbury community, local area and the world at large through bake sales, read-a-thons, book sales, and talent shows. They have contributed to the American Red Cross, Umbrella Center for Domestic Violence, the Southbury Food and Fuel Banks,
