The John's Island Regional Library was opened October 26, 2004. At 16,000 square feet it is the largest of the five Regional Libraries. The facility provides an auditorium, a smaller conference room and a children's story hour room. The collections are comprised of nearly 92,000 volumes, DVD's, videos, books on cassette, books on CD, music on CD. Approximately 40 computers with two in Spanish serve the communities of John's Island, Kiawah, Seabrook, and Wadmalaw. Circulation in FY2010 was over 311,000 items.
