Mission Statement:

The County of Imperial Free Library provides open and equal access to information and resources for members of our diverse community in order to meet the residents' educational, professional and personal informational and recreational reading needs.

About Us :

The Imperial County Free Library (ICFL) was formed in 1912. It serves the people of Imperial County who reside outside the city limits of Brawley, Calexico, El Centro and Imperial. Those cities all offer their own municipal libraries. Currently there are 8 library sites open to the public in Calipatria, Desert Shores, Heber, Holtville, Niland, Ocotillo, Salton City and Westmorland.

The ICLFL provides recreational and informational reading, audiotapes, some videos, periodicals and reference services to its patrons. Materials can be requested via interlibrary loan. Internet and public-access computers are available at seven branches. At the present time the system is not automated, so please call a branch with questions about the Library's holdings.
