Mission :
The Henika District Library is an institution established to provide materials and services which fulfill the needs of the general public in the pursuits of education, culture,information and leisure activities.It is the mission of the library to provide these materials and services in an atmosphere that is welcoming, respectful and professional, and in formats which are up-to-date and user-friendly.The Henika District Library selects and maintains its collection according to the basic policies contained in the Library Bill of Rights as amended by the American Library association Council,January 23,1980.
About Us:
The Henika District Library serves the residential population of the City of Wayland and Wayland Township, a total of 7,137 people. Library operations are supported by 1.5 mills collected in taxes from residents of the District Library.
The Henika District Library is a member of the Lakeland Library Cooperative which serves the greater West Michigan area. They provide a variety of services to the patrons of over 80 libraries.
We are also members of the Michigan Library Association(MLA).
