The mission of the Harmony Public Library is to serve the community as a source of reliable information by acquiring, organizing and administering educational and recreational materials in print, audio-visual and technology-based formats to promote the communication of ideas and enrichment of personal lives. Further, the Library will provide a place where inquiring minds may encounter the original, sometimes unorthodox, and critical ideas so necessary to a democratic society which depends for its survival on free access to information.
The Library will continually seek to identify community needs, to provide programs and services or cooperate with other community organizations to meet those needs. It will endeavor to encourage all children, young people and adults to educate themselves continuously, to provide opportunities for recreation through the use of literature, audiovisual material, and technology, and support educational, civic and cultural activities throughout the community.
