The Granby Library has opened in a new building at 55 Zero St. Grand Opening was July 4, 2006.Special services at the Granby Library include the ability to view Grand County newspapers on microfilm. Reels contain newspapers from 1882 to 2002, and the cost is 10 cents per page to print. History:
The Granby Library was destroyed on June 4 th by a man driving an armed and armored bulldozer. Thirteen buildings in Granby were damaged or destroyed that day, including the Town Hall, which housed the Granby Library. The library was located in the basement of the Town Hall, but plans were already in the works for a new library building. Following the destruction of the Town Hall, construction plans for the new library building were accelerated.
The Granby Library moves forward, thanks to the assistance of many.
The Granby Library was the recipient of many generous donations of books from both near and far. The Boulder Country Day School, the Western Writers of America, and Pitkin County Public Library made lovely donations of books and materials to help us continue to serve our patrons, as did many others. Many volunteers also donated countless hours of time to assist in the recovery of materials and the reopening of the library to serve our community
