About Us
The Gaston Branch Library was established in 1981 in the Gaston Town Hall. A new 2,400 sq. ft. building, funded by County Library Bonds, was opened in 1996.
In 2009, again using County funding, a 1,600 sq. ft. addition was constructed. This addition provided more and separate space for the children's collection as well as a 35-seat meeting room. Additional Internet computers were added for public use.
A wide variety of materials, information, and services are available, including access to the Internet and a wide variety of online databases. There are also a number of programs presented for children and adults.
The library is open 33 hours per week with one full-time and two part-time employees.
