Mission

The basic objectives of the Fulton Public Library are to collect, preserve and disseminate knowledge and thought as recorded in print on free and equal terms to all individuals and groups in the community. The library recognizes that its major concern must be toward the development of the individual as a citizen, and the removal of ignorance, intolerance and indifference; and to provide printed material which will satisfy the need of individuals to become well informed, to decide important questions, to discipline the emotions, to cultivate the imagination, to refine tastes and to creatively use their leisure time. Although financial limitations generally prevent equal emphasis on all aspects of these objectives, the library recognizes its responsibility in providing the above and also to provide a maximum of assistance to its clients in the use of the collection.
