About Us

The Friends of Wolcott Public Library, Inc. is a voluntary, non-profit group of people working to develop and maintain a vital, modern, public library system in the Town of Wolcott.

Friends are continually improving the library inside and out. We plan on having the flower beds spruced up  and the final mural commissioned by Friends. Our largest purchase has been the book and audio visual return located at the main entrance. We hope it will be more convenient for you to return your items when the library is closed. As always we will continue to supply ink cartridges for the color copier and keep the Museum pass program going as well. We are adding a number of items to children's room as well as continuing to sponsor Books for Babies program. We also were sponsors of the final program for the summer reading group.

The Friends hope that you will continue to update and improve the facility for all of us. You can also help by purchasing books and/or durable book bags that will be on sale all year long. We will continue to have paperback and hardcover books on sale on shelves next to main entrance.  At all times we will also have a small selection of books on tape, cassettes, CD's and videos. You can also honor someone for a special event by making a donation to the Friends. You can request a special area of interest and the library staff will purchase the book and put a nameplate inside that lists the donor and the person's name and event commemorated. this is a great idea for the birth of a baby, death of a loved one or a gift for someone's birthday or anniversary when they request "no gifts please".

The Friends meet the second Wednesday of the month from September to November and February through June. Our meetings begin at 12:30 pm in the downstairs meeting room. We hope you will decide to attend to give us your input on the current status of the Wolcott Library and to share with us your thoughts on how we can improve the services and facility. Please complete the membership application.
