Friends Of The West Haven Library

The West Haven Library Friends is in its fifth year. In our first year we worked hard to get the city to pay for Main Library renovations. In 2002 we campaigned for the bookmobile when it would be put up on blocks. We have been pressing to make the Ora Mason library fully accessible and plans are being drawn up for a ramp to the children's department and for new bathrooms.

We've been holding events at the library, readings by authors, book discussions, a poetry slam, a hootenanny and a day in honor of the city's national championship chess team.
