About

The Friends of the Potterville Benton Township District Library was formed in 1963 and have been active ever since promoting and expanding the library’s services to the community.  In 2012, the Friends group helped provide financial help to build the “Well Read Shed” annex that provides extra storage for the library as well as their bookstore that is open during Gizzard Fest and other times of the year.  The Friends have a great selection of gently used books that have been donated by local community patrons.

Becoming a member of the Friends of the Library is easy.  There are no membership dues and the group meets four times a year (or as needed) to plan special events.  Volunteering is a great way to become involved within your community and help foster an appreciation for reading.  If you are interested in becoming a part of the “Friends”, please contact the library at 517-645-2989 or stop by to talk to a “Friend” in person.

Donations to the shed are welcome year around.  We request that all personal information has been removed before donating books, dvd’s, books on tape or other items.  Check out the library calendar for details on when the next used book sale is open.
