About Us
The Friends of the National City Public Library are people who care about books, learning, and ideas. We see our library as a vital part of National City. We are advocates, volunteers, and fundraisers for the library. Through fundraising, we seek to enhance the library's resources, increase community access to informaton and knowledge, and provide a cultural gathering place for our diverse population.
In May 1982, a group of committed men and women formed the Friends of the National City Public Library.
The Friends promote public support and use of the library, and inform members and the public of issues affecting the library.
The Friends provide financial assistance to the library's collections and programs.
The Friends raise funds for library materials and equipment not supplied by the normal budget resources.
The Friends of the National City Library is a volunteer, non-profit, tax exempt organization.
