About

The Friends of the Library was organized by individuals who believe in the importance of books, reading, and libraries for people of all ages. They are interested in taking an active part in the improvement of the library and its resources. Members believe that any community is a better place in which to live if it supports its library.

What Do the Friends do?

Friends organizations help a public library to maintain and improve its services by supplementing library budgets with private funds and by providing volunteer work. The Friends primary revenue resources are membership fees and proceeds from book sales or other projects.  Examples of our donations include:

-Funding equipment and materials beyond the basics provided for in the regular budget. The most recent equipment purchase was the cotton candy machine for Special Programs.

-Volunteering to assist the library staff with various projects and use special talents and interests to benefit the library.

-Funding incentives for the summer reading programs, as well as other special programs held throughout the year.
