About us

Over the years, the Friends of the Davis Public Library have made substantial donations to the library. Donations have helped fund children's programs, special events at the library and the purchase of equipment. In addition many reference and general collection books are bought by the library with Friends donations.

Most of these funds are earned through the sale of donated books. The Friends have six book sales a year as well as an ongoing Friends Alcove sale in the library.  Look for the Alcove area to the right after entering the library.

When your books, videos, DVDs and CDs are donated to the library they are put to good use. Your donation may become part of the library collection if there is a need for it.  Many donations are sold in the Friends book sales which are attended by Friends, community members and dealers. Some items are sold online.  Book donations are made to various groups including: other Friends groups, community clinics, local schools, other libraries, social agencies and prisons.

Your donations are very important to the support and growth of Davis Public Library. The Friends appreciate donations of magazines for the ongoing book and magazine sale in the Friends Alcove. We would especially like women's, news, finance, how-to, travel, cooking, and art and architecture magazines.
