The Fort Pierce Branch Library and St. Lucie County Library System Administration are located in the historic downtown district at 101 Melody Lane, Fort Pierce on the corner of Orange Avenue. On February 7, 2000, the Library received four PC workstations, a content server and laser printer through a grant from the Library Program of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for public access to many titles of Microsoft reference and productivity software. On February 17-18, 2004, the Gates Grant PCs were replaced by more powerful Howard computers while retaining the licensed Grant software.
