Mission
To serve the city of Fort Madison and provide its residents with reliable service and access to a variety of materials, serving their informational, educational, and recreational needs. We hope to enhance the resources of local K-12 curriculums, and support lifelong learning and enjoyable reading for patrons of all ages.
The Fort Madison Public Library receives 97% of its funding from Fort Madison residents, but lends its collection statewide and nationwide through inter-library loan services (ILL). Non-taxpayers are also able to enjoy library resources, through the State Library's Open Access program, reciprocal borrowing agreements, or with a non-resident library card.
