Forsyth Missouri Library

162 Main Street
417-546-5257

The Forsyth Missouri Library was founded in March of 1969 when a group of local ladies met and decided Forsyth was in need of such a facility. With a few boxes of books and some borrowed shelf space, they opened for business. In the time that followed the Library grew, moved, grew some more, and moved yet again! We are proud to own the present Forysth Library building, Library Thrift Shop, and Forsythia Place Park.

In addition to the wide selection of fiction and non-fiction books, the library also has children's, juvenile, and young adult sections. Additional resources for check-out include a wide selection of audio books, video, and DVD movies. Included in the local collection are reference and genealogy sections.

All of the library goals have been reached by generous donations, fund raising events, and income from the Library Thrift Shop. The library staff includes one full-time librarian, Sara Shannon, and a diverse group of supportive community volunteers.
