History
The Parkdale Branch was dedicated on September 14, 1969. At the time of its construction, it was the largest suburban library in the county. In 1970, the branch received the American Institute of Architects' Design Award and its fountain recognized for “an outstanding use of decorative architectural concrete.” The branch was renamed the Forest Park Branch Library in January 2001 to better reflect the community it serves.
