The North Flint Branch Library is located in the Urban League facility off Pierson Rd, just east of Clio Rd. on Flint's northwest side. It serves a predominantly African American community of single family homes. The branch's primary mission is to serve the educational, business and leisure reading needs of the local community. A large percentage of its patrons are school age children, with adults, senior residents, parents with preschoolers, returning adult students and local businesses completing the community profile.

The Library has an excellent book and periodicals collection plus high-speed computers for Internet access and Microsoft Office applications. This Homework Center also features reference databases and children's educational games.

North Flint Branch actively seeks programming partnerships with the Urban League, local schools such as Merrill, Holmes and Brownell, and other agencies that deliver services at the site. Some past examples include an After School Tutoring Project, "Reading Partners" for parents of preschool children and "The Library Bus," in which Merrill children were introduced to the North Flint Branch Library. Every summer the Urban League runs the Library's Summer Reading Club as part of its literacy activities.
