The Farmville Public Library is a Department of the Town. Established in 1930, the library has been in its current location since 1954. The facility was expanded and renovated in 1997.

Our growing collection of books currently totals over 30,000 titles, including: Large Print Collection, North Carolina Collection, Reference Collection, Adult Fiction and Non-Fiction Collections, Young Adult, Junior, and Children's Collections. We also have in our collection over one hundred different magazine and newspaper titles available. If you are still unable to fine what you are looking for, we have access to many more through the library's computers via NCLIVE. If you would like remote access to NCLIVE, please contact the library for instructions.

The Library also has excellent public computing and internet service, including our Gates Training Lab, a state-of-the-art computer lab open to the public.

Computing, Internet, Email and NCLIVE instructional classes are conducted every two weeks at the library, free of charge! These are very popular and a great fun learning experience for participants.

Children's programming includes our Summer Reading Program, Tuesday Story Times, Special Holiday Programs, Storytelling, weekly programs at area day cares, special programs at area schools, and more

Tax Help through the AARP is available every year by appointment at the library during tax season.

Photocopying and lamination services are available at the library.
