About Us:
Elgin Library was dedicated on June 7, 1999. The planning and funding for the building began in 1993. The three-acre site and building at 2642 Main St. were donated by Charlotte Snyder in 1993. Funds for the renovation and new construction of the branch were raised from grants and appropriations from town, county, state and federal sources, and local private funds. The branch is 3,600 square feet, it contains over 10,000 volumes, it provides approximately 650 audio cassettes, 500 video cassettes, 20 magazine titles, Internet access stations, a public meeting room and a special children's area.
