History:

In February of 1903, a group of Uvalde women met to form a new civic organization. El Progreso Club. They set three goals for themselves: self-improvement, civic improvement and founding a public library. Since that time El Progreso has lived up to its name as a progressive model for library services in Southwest Texas.
