Welcome to East San José Carnegie Branch Library, popularly known as East Branch. It is the oldest branch in the San José Public Library system. Its status as a Carnegie library makes it the oldest public library operating in Santa ClaraCounty, having served the surrounding East San José community since January 14, 1908. The building was renovated in 1981 and the original structure has since been declared an historic landmark.

East San José Carnegie Branch is currently closed for expansion under theBranch Library Development Program. The new East Branch is scheduled to open in 2009. For more information, visit www.sjlibrary.org.
