Cumberland County Public Library - Bordeaux Branch
The Bordeaux Branch Library serves over 30,000 people who live in western Fayetteville. The 10,000 square foot facility opened in December 1985 adjacent to Mary McArthur Elementary School. In FY 2000-2001, an average of 11,840 people per month visited the Bordeaux Branch, using the library in a variety of ways: more than 18,530 books, sound recordings, videos and magazines were borrowed each month; and 11,514 people per year used the computers available to the public. The branch offers the following:
- 2 professional and 8 para professional staff
- Professional research and homework assistance
- computer area for up to 7 people with access to word processing, office applications, Internet, electronic research databases and a color laser printer
- Separate children's area with 4 computers featuring educational games, word processing and limited Internet use
- Typewriter room
- Meeting room
- 2 photocopiers and a FAX machine for public use
- Outside book drop
- Parking for 78 vehicles.
