About us:
The soaring mountain views outside the wall of windows at the Conifer Library are echoed in the high ceiling and spacious feeling inside. Sharing a mountain perch with Conifer High School, visitors to this library feel like they're on top of the world. It is a bold setting and the Conifer Library symbolizes a bold concept: sharing a collection and a building with a school in order to bring public library services to a whole community.
During the school day this is the school library, a fact reflected in the teen magazine collections a visitor sees first. When school is out, the library converts to a public library and welcomes everyone, from toddler to senior citizen. Special summer performances shared by all Jefferson County public libraries take a dramatic leap when performed here under the two-story-high open ceiling. Commuters going downhill to Denver head first for the collection of audiobooks. And people checking out library materials can also check out the weather data collected from the National Weather Service station on the roof and displayed near the circulation desk.
